La SSPTC encourage la recherche, la formation, l'échange d'informations et les travaux pratiques en pharmacologie clinique et toxicologie. Elle représente les préoccupations de ses membres et entretient des contacts avec les autorités, le public et les sociétés au niveau national et international.

Mort blanche durant la première guerre mondiale

L'hiver 1916/1917 fut extrêmement riche en neige dans les Alpes du Sud-Est. Pendant que la neige s'accumulait sur les sommets, la guerre régnait entre les soldats italiens et austro-hongrois. Des milliers de soldats et de civilistes périrent suite à de nombreuses avalanches mortelles.
